HUD published the Allocations for Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Implementation of the CDBG-DR Consolidated Waivers and Alternative Requirements Notice.
In March 2022, HUD allocated nearly $3 billion in CDBG-DR funds appropriated by the Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2022 for major disasters occurring in 2020 and 2021. In this notice, HUD is announcing the allocation of an additional $1.447 billion in CDBG-DR funds appropriated by the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2023 for major disasters occurring in 2021. When additional data becomes available for disasters occurring in 2022, the remaining $553,371,000 will be allocated for those disasters in a subsequent notice.
This Allocation Announcement Notice (AAN) identifies grant requirements for these funds, including requirements in HUD’s CDBG-DR Consolidated Notice (‘‘Consolidated Notice’’) found in Appendix B (unchanged from prior publications), and some amendments to the Consolidated Notice that apply to CDBG-DR grants for disasters occurring in 2020 and 2021. Grantees who received CDBG-DR grant funds for disasters occurring in 2020 should be sure to review section IV.B. of the AAN. The Consolidated Notice, as amended by this AAN, includes:
