Statement from HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge Expressing Condolences Upon the Passing of Former U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson


WASHINGTON - Today, Marcia L. Fudge, the 18th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued the following statement expressing condolences upon the passing of former U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30):

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend and colleague, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson. A remarkable trailblazer, unmatched advocate for equity in S.T.E.M., and true champion for the American people, Eddie Bernice represented the people of Texas with distinction and grace for three decades. She embodied what it means to be a servant leader, and will be forever missed.”

“My sincere condolences to the family and all who loved her.”
